Information about publication series

The Research Institute’s publication series Riista- ja kalatalous (Game and Fisheries) serves the needs of professionals in the game, fisheries and reindeer sector, businesses, decision-makers and enthusiasts. The purpose of the series is to disseminate FGFRI research information that has practical applications. Both Finnish and Swedish-language articles will appear in the series and Finnish-language articles will be provided with English and Swedish summaries.

The publication series is in two parts:

• Tutkimuksia ja Selvityksiä (in Finnish, abstract in English)

A quick outlet for monitoring and other reports, guidelines, manuals, population assessments, seminar publications and literature reviews.

• Statistics

Game and fisheries statistics

Most of the publications are in electronic form (PDF) but they can also be ordered as prints at the Tampereen Yliopistopaino virtual bookstore, which can be accessed through these pages.

To make information searches easier, the publication series is divided into five sectors as follows:

• management and sustainable use of animal populations
• animal population assessments
• habitats
• businesses & foods
• natural resources & society at large

FGFRI researchers will continue to publish scientific articles in international and national scientific series and magazines. The Research Institute is a co-publisher of Suomen Riista and Boreal Environment Research.

Bibliographic information about the scientific articles will be given on these pages and links to the original publications will be provided, should the originals be available as online versions. Finnish-language summaries will appear in connection with scientific publications that are of interest to Finnish readers on account of their subject and results.
