Kuusamo Fish Farm – Aquaculture production

Together with the Taivalkoski aquaculture station, the Kuusamo station keeps up the broodstocks of stocks in northern Finland, and produces material for the care of stocks in north-eastern Finland.

Fish eggs and fingerlings are the main products, most being delivered to private fish hatcheries and extensive fish ponds. Brown trout, different whitefish strains, grayling, landlocked salmon and Arctic charr are cultivated at the station. The fish health class is P1.
