Laukaa Fish Farm – Aquaculture production The function of the Laukaa aquaculture station is to conserve the valuable fish stocks of southern and western Finland and produce their eggs and larvae for breeding an restocking.
Eggs and young larvae are the main products, most being delivered to private fish hatcheries and extensive fish ponds. Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar), several strains of brown trout (Salmo trutta) and whitefish (Coregonus lavaretus), grayling (Thymallus thymallus), rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and carp (Cyprinus carpio) are reared at the station. The fish health class is P0. Experimental aquaculture research plays a significant role at Laukaa.
