Taivalkoski Game and Fisheries Research and Aquaculture – Aquaculture production The Taivalkoski aquaculture station is a large broodstock station that focuses on fish egg production and preseving the valuable fish stocks of large constructed watersheds.
Fish eggs and fingelings are the main products, most being delivered for ongrowing to private fish hatcheries, extensive fish ponds and hatcheries owned by power plant companies. Salmon stocks from the Bothnian Bay, several trout and whitefish strains, grayling, landlocked salmon, Arctic charr and the imported species lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush), brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis), rainbow trout and peled whitefish (Coregonus peled) are cultivated at the station. the fish health class is P0.
