Tervo Fisheries Research and Aquaculture – Aquaculture production The Tervo aquaculture station is the nucleous station for the national selective breeding programme for salmonids. Large family-based selective breeding program for rainbow trout and recently established selctive program for whitefish are the major tasks of the station.
The main aquaculture products are eyed-stage eggs and fingerlings of rainbow trout and whitefish, also brown trout and grayling are in production. Rainbow trout and whitefish pedigrees are an important base for research and development projects. The fish health classification of the farm is P1.
